Sabal Foundation
A new identity, founded on a child’s voice and vision, for this 30-yr old Nepalese healthcare nonprofit.
Challenge
Established in 2019, the Sabal Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children (HRDC), a 30-year Nepal-based, globally-recognized leader in its field. HRDC has provided life changing medical care and support to over 100, 000 children in a country where disability has historically been seen as a curse.
As the brand architects, LVCK had to design everything associated with this new brand identity in a way that builds on the heritage of the parent organization, while appealing to the distinctive donor audience. As brand architects, we had to consider the impact HRDC has had beyond the hospital to its mobile medical camps, satellite treatment centers, and the school for recovering children.
Approach
We developed a new name, logo, and visual guidelines in order to:
Set the non-profit above and apart from its peers
Place the identity squarely within the child’s world, the doctor’s commitments, and the unique conditions of Nepal, while also reinforcing “Sabal” or self-reliance
Synergize with the core organization’s branding, while allowing for a possible brand migration path for both the foundation and parent organization over time
As a result of our effort on a new name, logo, and fundraising website, LVCK now works on an ongoing basis to integrate the brand, its persona and voice, into annual reports and seasonal fundraising collateral.
