Mercer Meadows

A comprehensive wayfinding solution eases navigation for birders, families, equestrians, and history buffs across a 1,600 acre nature preserve.

The Mercer County Parks Commission operates nine parks in southern New Jersey. Mercer County Park Northwest was an unknown gem in the system, with 1,600 acres of historic farmland, family parks, waterways, and grasslands. A landscape master plan, developed by ETM Associates, paved the way for a wayfinding strategy and signage plan.

The new wayfinding proposed a re-naming of the park and the creation of symboled districts and colored trails. An innovation of the sign system was using standard 4x4s for the entire structure of each sign type paired with changeable metal graphic panels.
